I am Joan Rubin-Deutsch, a licensed psychotherapist and the author of "Why Can't I Ever Be Good Enough?". I will help you to identify what is causing distress in your life and teach you practical skills and tools to release that which is undermining your ability to live your life to its fullest potential. My philosophy is that everything in life is possible and attainable.

My clinical background is extensive. I am presently in private practice. I was the owner/director of Interactions Counseling for eighteen years. I also owned and managed The Healing Arts Center, a holistic health center in Westford, Mass.. I have been affiliated with several counseling centers, including Westford Women's Health Center and Acton Mental Health Associates. I was on staff at Nashoba Community Hospital, Eliott Hospital's Pain Management Program and Emerson Hospital. I created the Divorcing Parent's Workshop which was a state mandated psychoeducation program for divorcing parents. In addition, I taught Human Development at the University of Massachusetts and ran a course for the Acton/Boxboro Community Education program.

Earlier in my career, I was a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and volunteered at a battered women's shelter in Santa Fe, New Mexico for three years.

I received my Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Boston University and an MSW from The Graduate School of Social Work at Boston University in 1984. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
